AND A RETROSPEKTIVE 1953–2001

WestLicht presents a Leica Exhibition of the pictorial essayist and photo journalist Elliott Erwitt. With the title “Magic Hands” a snapshot of the Magnum member is being shown in which hands, in their humorous or distressing, dramatic or subtly meaningful gestures are the focus of attention. In addition there are works made between 1953 and 2001 which Erwitt has selected for the Leica Galleries in Prague and Vienna.
The American photographer was presented with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his work, the highest honour awarded by the Leica Galleries in New York, Tokyo, Prague, Vienna and Solms.
