Clandestine eroticism from private photo albums
An exhibition from the Skrein Collection in collaboration with the Brandstätter publishing house.
In over 35 years of collecting activity, the Austrian photo-journalist and artist Christian Skrein has brought together over one million private snapshots by anonymous photographers from all over the world.
His snapshots archive, which is ordered thematically, is one of the most extensive collections of private photographs. The show at WestLicht presents about 50 of the "private nudes" (original vintage prints) of unkown international photographers, predominantly from the thirties and fifties. For the exhibition an illustrated book will be issued by the Brandstätter publishing house.
