MODEL ARBUS GOLDIN
06.12.2018–24.03.2019
With Lisette Model (1901–83), Diane Arbus (1923–71) and Nan Goldin (* 1953) WestLicht presents three great American photographers whose work radically extended our view on society, casting a light on the other, the extraordinary, the margins and the eccentric. Over the course of three generations – starting with the Viennese-born Model – they each reinvented the dialogue between subject and photographer and joined a documentary with a highly idiosyncratic approach. Their works are as much expressions of their times and their particular environments as they are tributes to the plurality of being itself.
