National Geographic´s vintage-prints for the first time in European museum exhibit!

Robert Scott´s tragic journey to the South Pole, the discovery of the arcane Inca-fortress Machu Picchu, the legendary excursions with specially built Citroen-motors through Africa and Asia, mysteries of the deep sea, Native Americans and much more - the exhibition "The World in Magazine Format. National Geographic 1888 - 1950" brings the last great expeditions of the 20th century of life.

The exhibition, which opened on Thursday at Museum for Photography WestLicht, shows a selection of the most fascinating vintage-prints from the photographic archive of the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C. WestLicht-owner Peter Coeln was pleased to have the opportunity to present these historically, culturally and artistically unique collection for the first time in an European museum. Jane Bocklage of the United States Embassy in Vienna was glad to open this exhibit of photography from one of the most prestigious non-profit institutions in the US.

After her opening adress, the numerous visitors for the first time had the chance to embark on their own journey to the great adventure of the early 20th century.
