Eyes wide open! was the motto yesterday for numerous visitors who attended the opening of the 100 Years of Leica Photography exhibition at the Museum of Photography WestLicht. Peter Coeln was pleased to welcome guests of honour such as Thomas Hoepker, Clotilde Burri and Christian Skrein. The exhibition was opened by Hans-Michael Koetzle. The elaborately designed show not only presents the most important Leica photographs from their beginnings to the 1970s, but also the camera technology that made such expressive images possible in the first place. The photo-historical symbiosis can be seen at WestLicht until 21 February 2016. The second part of the exhibition, which deals with contemporary Leica photographs, will be presented at Galerie OstLicht from 11 December 2015.
