77 very special memories from 12 years of presidency can be admired at the Photomuseum WestLicht from Thursday, the 16th of June. Federal President Heinz Fischer himself opened the exhibition Bitte - Danke! Heinz Fischer in Portrait together with the head of WestLicht, Peter Coeln. "A picture says more than a thousand words, this saying has proven more and more true during my time in office," said Heinz Fischer during the press conference at the Photomuseum.
The archives of the outgoing head of state contain more than 120,000 photos - valuable documents of his time that document private moments and professional highlights. Heinz Fischer's staff together with curators from WestLicht have selected the best 77 pictures by more than 20 photographers. Now, until the 31st of July, those interested can admire Heinz Fischer headbanging with David Alaba in the Hofburg, stroking Lipizzaner horses with Vladimir Putin or peering out in a sea of Austrian flags. "Many of the photos here were taken spontaneously and were a happy coincidence. Thanks to the close cooperation with my photographers, I was always able to remain authentic," says Heinz Fischer about his life in a flurry of flashbulbs.
