After the great opening of the exhibition REINER RIEDLER. THIS SIDE OF PARADISE at the Photomuseum WestLicht, the photographer Reiner Riedler spontaneously decided to donate the entire exhibited group of works UKRAINE for the emergency aid of Caritas.

More than 42,000 euros were raised at the charity auction held at WestLicht on March 17, 2022. Auctioned were 20 signed vintage prints of photographs taken by photographer Reiner Riedler in the late 1990s on several trips through Ukraine. The top lot, an atmospherically particularly successful shot of a rest stop on the country road between Kiev and Kharkiv, went for 5,500 euros to a telephone bidder in Singapore at a starting price of 950 euros.
