Asian-diasporic communities are part of the city of Vienna and its history. They are invisible residents, some of whom have lived here for generations and yet are still regarded as foreigners. The WANDAPANDA & TIGER project sees itself as a pan-Asian documentation archive and aims to visualise diverse living realities, historical traces and continuities.
Together with the initiators of the project, the PERILLA association, WestLicht invites you to a get-together with drinks and music in the courtyard of the Fotomuseum. As part of the current INSIDE VIEWS exhibition, the association will be presenting the WANDAPANDA & TIGER project. This is a mobile archive in the form of a bicycle cargo trailer, which will be used by and with Asian diasporic artists from Austria and beyond. After several stops throughout Vienna last summer, WestLicht is now offering the trailer, which can be used like a library, a temporary stage.
The PERILLA and WestLicht team will be welcoming you from 4 pm. As part of the event in the courtyard, you can expect cool drinks and a combined ticket (free drink with the purchase of an exhibition ticket) as well as the following programme items:
Guided tour through the current exhibition INSIDE VIEWS (participation with a valid exhibition ticket) | 4 p.m.
WANDAPANDA & TIGER stories with open mic reading | from 5 pm
Closing with sounds by PERILLA ALLSTARS | until 7 pm
The current exhibition INSIDE VIEWS will be open from 11 am to 7 pm.
