ANNA AICHER
RANGGELN
15.09.–12.11.2023
Parallel to the World Press Photo exhibition, WestLicht is showing works by photographer Anna Aicher (*1993) in the upper gallery.
Ranggeln is one of the oldest sports in the Alpine region. For her long-term project "Like Father, Like Son", Anna Aicher visits various traditional sporting events, including the Ranggel competitions on the Hundstoa in Pinzgau, which has been a UNESCO cultural heritage site since 2010.
Her photographs not only observe the trial of strength of young men, they also tell of the struggles of growing up and the search for one's own place in society.
