ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
FOTOGRAFIEN DER BEATLES

Pictures and Video of the opening can be found HERE.
They are still the most successful band in music history and have shaped pop culture like no one else. The photographers who captured every moment of the band's ten-year history have contributed to this phenomenon. Their images, reproduced a billion times over on record sleeves, newspaper covers, posters, autograph cards and chewing gum pictures, were as important a fuel for Beatlemania as the music itself.
In the exhibition All You Need Is Love, WestLicht illuminates the most diverse approaches with which the hitherto unique star cult was fueled. From Peter Brüchmann's - never before shown - reportage of the Bravo Blitz tour through Germany to Richard Avedon's psychedelic pop art posters and the outtakes of the legendary Abbey Road cover shoot, the photographic journey through time also reveals the external and internal metamorphoses of the Fab Four. While Max Scheler brought back almost familiar-like photographs for Stern from his trip to the origins in Liverpool, the growing estrangement between John, Paul, George and Ringo is palpable for the first time in the very personal portraits of Linda McCartney from 1967.
Rounded off with pictures of the Beatles' only visit to Austria, original magazines and rare LP covers, the exhibition makes it possible to experience the fascination of the Beatles, which remains unbroken to this day, in a sensual way. The music is provided by a jukebox filled with the greatest hits of the four mushroom heads.
The exhibition is as part of FOTO WIEN 2023
